Curtain Up MT is run by Samantha Cooper and was created to give young performers a place to train, perform and belong.
A graduate of Arts Educational School, Samantha Cooper began her professional career performing in productions including Blood Brothers, West Side Story and A Christmas Carol. She now brings more than 30 years of teaching experience to her work with young musical theatre performers.
Samantha creates a warm, supportive environment where students can build confidence, develop their skills and discover their individuality. Her teaching includes vocal technique, acting through song, character development, audition preparation and ensemble performance.
Through one-to-one lessons, Samantha prepares students for London College of Music musical theatre examinations up to Grade 8 and diploma level. With almost 18 years of experience delivering these qualifications, her students consistently achieve excellent results, including many distinctions. She also supports students preparing for drama school, production and professional auditions.
Alongside individual tuition, Samantha teaches groups in vocal harmony, ensemble work and teamwork, helping students develop both their performance skills and their confidence.
Through Curtain Up, Samantha produces musical theatre showcases celebrating her students' achievements. Her production experience includes vocal coaching and choreography for Beauty and the Beast, The Sound of Music and Anastasia, as well as directing and leading the vocal work for Les Misérables: School Edition.
Above all, Samantha is passionate about helping every student find their voice and discover the joy of performing.
